Hurricane Irene

Atlantic Metro Communications Customers,

With the forecasted landfall of Hurricane Irene along the East Coast of the United States, we would like to outline the following points to our valued customers.

The hurricane’s projected path may include the following sites in New York and New Jersey: (LGA1, LGA2, LGA3, LGA4, LGA5, LGA6, LGA7, LGA8, LGA9, NJ3)

1: Our 24-hour NOC will continue to be just that, a 24-hour NOC. The NOC can be reached via telephone at 212-792-9950, option 5, and support tickets can be sent via email to support@atlanticmetro.net. Emergency (911) tickets and issues can be emailed directly to noc@atlanticmetro.net We ask that you use 911 tickets only in the event of a true network-down emergency/loss of service.

2: All Operations and Network Engineering staff will be on standby in the event of any catastrophic failures in the network or at any facility.

3: Regular status calls will take place over the course of the weather event, to keep all staff up to date with the most current information.

4: All power systems, which are tested on a regular basis, should continue to function normally in the event of any grid power loss with redundant systems (UPS systems, generators, etc.)

Please understand that any issues requiring dispatch may be delayed, as we ensure safety with our crews traveling between AMC sites. We appreciate your understanding during this time. If you have any questions or concerns related to this weather event, please feel free to contact us. We aim, as always, to provide a superior level of service to our customers.
