The new year has started off very quickly for Atlantic Metro team. We’ve been very busy in the 1st 15 days of the month. A quick list of things that have been going on, and some behind the scenes pictures.

• Core Switch Upgrade at LGA1 IDC to Brocade MLX Plantform
• Increased LGA1 Capacity by an additional 6 Gbps
• Went live with Public Peering Exchange Equinix Newark
• Added over 30 new private peering connections
• Added over 10 new Metro Ethernet customers in Manhattan
• Added additional NOC coverage during busy hours

Good Morning!

As I wait for the effects of the 5 Hour energy shot (consumed about 4 hours ago) to wear off, allow me to share some good news. The scheduled maintenance executed earlier concludes another round of upgrades for our Flagship LGA1 facility here in chilly New York. First, we’ve upgraded our core switching platform to a more scalable and modern product. After heavy consideration, we ended up with the Brocade MLX platform. This upgrade will allow us up to 600% growth at this site. That should hold us for a few months Next we’ve upgraded our capacity to our neighbor site, LGA3 (111 8th Avenue, NYC) as it allows us to interconnect with the majority of the networking partners available in the NYC market. Last but not least, we’ve added additional peering presence by joining the Equinix peering exchange in our Chicago and New York markets. This opens us up to expanded connectivity and will continue to do so over time.

We aim to please and we’re happy to present such a state of the art network to our valued clients.
